8 Real Reasons Your Tech Blog Isn’t Growing (And How to Fix Them)
I have gone from 100 followers to 1.7k in just 1 month and today I am sharing my secret to success

You’re writing consistently. Posting on time. Maybe even sharing your blog links on LinkedIn, Twitter, and that one Telegram group from 2021.
But still… crickets.
No likes. No shares. No DMs saying, “I loved this, Thanks for Sharing.”
I’ve been there. And if you’re stuck wondering why your blog isn’t growing despite your effort — this one’s for you.
I have gone from 100 followers to 1.7k in just 1 month and today I am sharing my secret to success
Do not read until you see the results

1. You’re Writing to Everyone (So You’re Reaching No One)
Let me guess — your blog covers tech, career, mindset, and maybe some startup rants too?
It sounds like versatility. But in blogging, that’s just noise.
How to Fix it?
Pick a focus. Write like you’re solving problems for one version of you from two years ago. That’s your real niche.
2. Your Headlines Aren’t Doing the Work
If your headline is something like:
“Thoughts on Consistency” — no one’s clicking.
Why? Because people don’t want thoughts, they want results.
How to Fix it?
Write curiosity-driven headlines. You can use AI to take help in this
Think:
❌ “DSA Tips” → ✅ “Why I Failed Every DSA Interview Until I Did This”
❌ “Build Habits” → ✅ “How 60 Minutes a Day Changed My Life (For Real)”
3. You’re Writing Like an Essayist, Not a Human
Big blocks of text. No emotion. No stories.
You’re blogging like your college professor is grading it.
How to Fix it?
- Break it up. Make it relatable
- Use short paras. Add emojis (yes, even in tech) but not too much.
- Speak how you talk to a friend after a long day.
- Share your story, instead of just your essay
4. You’re Not Showing Up Where People Hang Out
If your blog lives only on your site or Medium, but you’re invisible on LinkedIn, X, Discord, or IndieHackers — you’re making it hard for your audience to find you.
How to Fix it?
Pick 1–2 platforms and go all in.
Turn each blog into:
- 1 tweet thread
- 1 LinkedIn post
- 1 reel/short (yes, you can talk into a camera!)
Distribute like you mean it.
6. You Don’t Ask for Engagement
If your posts don’t end with a CTA, you’re missing out on shares and conversations.
How to Fix it?
Try things like:
- “What’s one habit that changed your year?”
- “Have you faced this too? Drop your thoughts 👇”
7. You’re not talking about Hot Topics
You’re not talking about hot topic in your industry
How to Fix it?
- Collect hot topics from LinkedIn
- You can also see what’s going popular and follow the trend
One of the things that I notice that if you can gather the hot topics that can become the point of discussion
8. You’re Not Showing the Why
People don’t follow you for just tips — they follow the journey.
If they don’t know why you blog or what it’s doing for you, they won’t connect.
How to Fix it?
- Share the process. The wins. The breakdowns.
- Let people root for your story — not just your strategies.
Final Thoughts
Blogging isn’t about perfection — it’s about connection.
The moment I stopped writing for the algorithm and started writing like a human?
My blog didn’t just grow — it compounded.
Over to You
Which one of these mistakes are you making right now? Or — if you’ve fixed them already — what made the biggest difference?
